Funcom had previously indicated the its Secret Worlds revamp Secret Worlds Legends would have a limited ‘headstart’ ahead of it’s full release in July, and that this would initially be restricted to select and returning players. In a welcome change, this headstart has now been opened up publicly as announced on the dev livestream. Anyone can now go to the official game site and play for free right now, with the official Steam release still set for July.
As an additional reward for returning veterans of the original game, they will be granted two additional character slots, bringing their total available up to 3. There’s also a guide to assist in transferring accounts from the old game to the new one. The Legacy transfer system is not too complex, and will be available up until an as yet undetermined point in August, when the service will wind up.
