Christopher Nolan’s latest epic movie Dunkirk has been receiving strong reviews ahead of its release tomorrow, and a key part of the marketing plan for the movie is a partnership with wargaming.net across the World of… series of games. Remember Dunkirk content is due to launch on console and PC versions of World of Tanks, as well as World of Warships and World of Warplanes, and features a number historically themed activities and bundles. Players can compete to earn vehicles and other unlocks unique to the event, and participate in game modes specifically designed around the events of Operation Dynamo. For example in World of Warships, players attempting to aid the Allied evacuation are encouraged to protect smaller vessels and, should an allied vessel fall, attempt to aid surviving people in the water. There’s also the challenge of creating a game with distinct sides, rather than a generic battlefield where vehicles from different sides of the war are grouped together in historically nonsensical ways, and alongside that the challenge of representing the Nazi party. For more information you can check out the official Remember Dunkirk page, as well as a host of videos about the game and the event itself.
