We were expecting an exciting change to Conan Exiles in the next update, with the edition of a climbing patch. It was scheduled to go live with the next update, but this has been shelved for the short-term with Funcom now focusing on upgrading the game to the latest version of Unreal Engine. They clarified the following in a recent dev blog:
“We’re upgrading from Unreal 4.12 to 4.15. It’s a pretty big leap. This most recent version of the Unreal Engine allows to take advantage of some new features that will help us during the development process of Conan Exiles, for example optimization of both server and client, which should result in a smoother experience for all players.”
We’re still not exactly sure when the climbing patch has been pushed back until but for more information on it check the dev stream below, where there’s a deeper discussion about getting around the world and interacting with your physical environs.
