The Assassin’s Creed series has taken knocks in recent years, with a lukewarm reception to latest versions Unity and Syndicate, and a decidedly underwhelming film failing to ignite the box office but the upcoming title Origins is giving people faith back in this once beloved franchise. Recently media outlets have been given an extended look at the game for final previews ahead of its late October launch and in what seems to be the most important developments for the players, there is confirmation that once again you will be able to pet cats.
This feature was shockingly absent from both Unity and Syndicate so it’s good to see Ubisoft has identified the things fans truly care about. It’s currently the top thread on the Assassin’s Creed reddit confirming the importance of our feline friends to fans, with special praise reserved for Lead Developer Ashraf Ismail for including it back in the series. Other requested features include the ability to toggle your head placement as well as a photo mode, but the key takeaway for future developers is the importance of cats to user experience!
